SB19 unveils summer anthem “Moonlight,” with acclaimed producers Ian Asher and Terry Zhong

Published on May 2, 2024

The catchy dance track is SB19’s first release since 2023’s global smash “Gento”

SB19 delivers another club anthem just in time for the summer!

The P-Pop powerhouse links up with US-based producer/DJ Ian Asher and Chinese electronic producer Terry Zhong for their new single “Moonlight,” released today under Liquid State/Sony Music Philippines.

Infused with sweat-spangled beats and deep, infectious grooves, the dance-pop banger channels romantic desires in the best way possible. As the chorus sums it up, “Doing what we do in the moonlight / I’ll be loving you, baby all night,” the award-winning pop quintet expresses the song’s sensual pining with remarkable finesse, basking in the glow of the night’s blissful moment.

According to the P-Pop kings, working with Ian Asher and Terry Zhong was truly an inspiring experience, and it gave them an entirely different perspective when it comes to music-making.

“We’ve met Ian Asher during our tour in the US, and we were surprised at how talented and prolific he is at such a young age,” SB19 shares in a press statement. “This kind of music is new to us. The production is very current yet experimental, but it also gives us room to explore and expand our horizons as artists. The collaboration really brought out the best of all worlds, and being part of the process, really opened our creative realm to exciting new possibilities.”

“Moonlight” was produced by Ian Asher, Terry Zhong, and Lenno Linjama, with mixing by Serge Courtois, who has worked with some of the biggest music stars, including Carly Rae Jepsen, Alessia Cara, Nick Jonas, LANY, Madison Beer, and more.

The release of “Moonlight” comes with a music video conceptualized and directed by SB19’s Justin De Dios. The minimalist vibe of the MV is paired with slick choreography that finds the multi-talented boyband embracing a fun but eclectic persona in all their ‘poker face’ glory.

Justin explains, “The song has euphoric undertones lyrics-wise, so I wanted to play around with that concept and inject a little bit of craziness and out-of-this-world treatment. It’s a very simple but minimalist take, but the dance choreography really elevates the visuals to a different level. I can’t really explain the concept without revealing too much. I’m just excited that this MV is in a totally different lane from anything that we’ve done in the past.”

“Moonlight” serves as SB19’s first release since 2023’s “GENTO,” which became a viral sensation on TikTok and other similar platforms in the Philippines and Asia.
The P-Pop group recently wrapped up their successful “PAGTATAG!” World Tour in Japan on April 29, and is currently gearing up for a two-day concert in Manila on May 18 and 19 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

SB19’s “Moonlight” (with Ian Asher and Terry Zhong) is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Liquid State/Sony Music Philippines. The official music video will drop tonight at 7 p.m.

Begging For That Someone To Stay? Edwin Hurry Jr. Drops Catchy R&B Track “Dito Ka Lang”

Published on May 1, 2024

Edwin Hurry Jr. has unveiled his latest single “Dito Ka Lang” under Universal Records Philippines. The track, now playlisted at #9 on Spotify’s “Fresh Finds Philippines,” is already making waves with its irresistible blend of R&B vibes and heartfelt storytelling. It follows the release of his own version of “Sana Ngayong Pasko” last December 2023.

“Dito Ka Lang” resonates with audiences through its infectious melodies and upbeat rhythm, despite its introspective lyrics. Edwin Hurry Jr. explains, “I chose the R&B genre because it’s one of the most popular styles among listeners today. The melodies are catchy, and even though the lyrics may be bittersweet, the song’s upbeat nature makes it easy to sing along.”

At its core, “Dito Ka Lang” delves into the complexities of relationships, portraying a narrative where one person pleads for their partner to stay despite the challenges they face together.

“The song is about a person who begs for someone to stay despite the struggles, and problems that they’re facing in their relationship and he/she still always chooses to save the relationship they built together,” he states.

Sharing insights into his creative process, Hurry Jr. revealed a humorous anecdote about the song’s genesis. “I went to a coffee shop to work on the song, expecting a quiet environment. However, to my surprise, it was bustling with noise. Despite the unexpected setting, I persevered and put on my earphones to focus on crafting the lyrics.”

He continued, “After completing the initial draft, I made final touches at home. The fun part is, we ended up in a bustling market instead of the peaceful coffee shop we intended to visit. It was a memorable experience that added to the song’s journey.”

With over 1.3 million subscribers on YouTube, 1.8 million followers on TikTok, and a Facebook page boasting 3.8 million followers, Edwin Hurry Jr. continues to captivate audiences with his charm and infectious melodies. It’s time to stream “Dito Ka Lang” on your favorite digital streaming platforms now.

YGIG, PLUUS Release Cosmic Back-To-Back Comeback Single “Universe”

Published on April 12, 2024
YGIG

YGIG and PLUUS dropped back-to-back cosmic and LSS-inducing singles that will surely make both WeGo and SUM fandoms go wild and crazy.

The two powerhouse groups in the P-Pop scene unveiled their respective singles, both titled “Universe”

YGIG’s “Universe” was written by YGIG members themselves. They aimed to spotlight the celebration of individuality and uniqueness. Their intent was to underscore the importance of self-acceptance and embracing one’s own identity, advocating against comparison and the pressure to conform.

PLUUS

The essence conveyed is that everyone possesses their own distinct and personal universe. “YGIG’s Universe” is a soft-pop track infused with a blend of dancehall rhythms and soothing guitar melodies, offering an easily accessible listening experience. Through this song, YGIG has established another layer of their artistic identity. Building upon their previous releases, “Universe” propels listeners beyond their existing repertoire.

And of course, there’s the “Universe” by PLUUS, a very catchy dance pop song with minimal sound and disco rhythm guitars. It is a song that the PLUUS members gave justice and meaning to. Crafted by PLUUS members Haro, Theo, JL, Yen, Justin, and Gab, the lyrics of this song are a heartfelt tribute to their devoted fanbase, SUM. Describing their fans as the vital missing piece of a puzzle that forms their ideal paradise, the boys convey a profound appreciation. The song eloquently expresses how the love and support of their fans can transform emptiness into beauty, culminating in a harmonious and perfect universe.

To support the release of these two singles, SBTown produced the SBT Own Universe Tour. It’s a series of mall shows that started last April 14 so they can see their beloved WeGo and SUM live and up close in different cities here in the country. The tour is ongoing and more dates will be added. Likewise, both songs were playlisted on P-Pop On The Rise on Spotify PH.
