The Top OPM Hits of 2015

Published on December 29, 2015

It is the season to be jolly. Fa la la la la…Christmas na! Nagsimula na ang Simbang Gabi at paghahanda para sa Christmas Parties. Pero bago pa tayo ma-LSS kina Jose Mari Chan at Mariah Carey, let’s look back at the all-Pinoy hits that brought color to our 2015.

10) Paano Ba Ang Magmahal – Piolo Pascual & Sarah Geronimo

At No. 10 is the hugot theme song of the hugot movie, “The Breakup Playlist.” This duet about bittersweet love has topped Papua New Guinea iTunes’ Top 100 songs. Here is Piolo Pascual and Sarah Geronimo with “Paano Ba Ang Magmahal?”

9) Teka Break – Sam Concepcion / Tidal Wave – Julie Anne San Jose

Our 9th spot is shared by two catchy, upbeat songs – ang pampa-good vibes na pambungad sa 2015 ni Sam Concepcion and the bouncy song about kilig ni Julie Anne San Jose which was recorded and shot in the US. Let’s take a break and dance to the tune of “Teka Break” by The Absolute Performer and “Tidal Wave” by the Asia’s Pop Sweetheart.

8) Wish I May – Alden Richards

Your wish is our command as we save the 8th place for Alden Richards’ “Wish I May.”

7) Diwata – Abra ft. Chito Miranda / Move On – Sponge Cola ft. Jane Oineza

Two more songs about love tied for our 7th spot – isang nagpapahayag kung gaano siya ka-in love at isang nangungumbinsing limutin na ito. Rapper Abra’s collaboration with Chito Miranda was released in 2014 pero nanatiling paborito hanggang sa taong ito. Habang ang music video naman ng bandang Sponge Cola with singer-actress Jane Oineza ay higit na nagpasikat sa kanta dahil sa pag-feature sa UAAP superstar at real-life admirer ni Oineza, si Jeron Teng. Here are among this year’s chart toppers, “Diwata” by Abra ft. Chito Miranda and “Move One” by Sponge Cola ft. Jane Oineza.

6) Kilometro – Sarah Geronimo

At the 6th position ay ang nag-iisang Popstar Royalty, Sarah Geronimo, with “Kilometro.” Ang LDR song na ito na makaka-LSS kahit kanino ay hindi lang isang local hit, nagtamo rin ito ng karangalan sa ibang bansa by winning the “Gold Global Sound” Award in the 10th International Song Contest: The Global Sound. Sabayan natin ang Popstar as she fights for love sa kabila ng Kilome-kilome-kilometrong layo!

5) Me and You – Nadine Lustre

She gave us the hit songs “Paligoy-ligoy” and “Para-paraan” in 2014 at syempre hindi niya palalampasin ang taon without gracing the airwaves with her voice. Proving her versatility, yet again, here is Nadine Lustre at No. 5 with her electro-pop single, “Me and You.”

4) Perfectly Imperfect – Sarah Geronimo

To show us what royalty means, Sarah G claims another position in our list. Isang awiting magtuturo sa ‘yo kung paano haharapin ang bashers mo, the empowering single perfectly secures our 4th place. Alisin natin ang lahat ng nega with Spotify’s 3rd most streamed Filipino artist, Sarah Geronimo, and “Perfectly Imperfect.”

3) Para Sa ‘Yo – Juan Karlos Labajo

Lucky number kaya niya ang “3”? ‘Cause similar to the results of The Voice Kids Season 1, Juan Karlos Labajo also lands on our 3rd spot. With this chart-topping single, JK has easily become the youngest crooner of the country. Let’s swoon over “Para Sa ‘yo” by JK Labajo at hinding hindi talaga tayo luluha.

2) Stuck – Darren Espanto

Stuck at No. 2 and stuck in our minds is Darren Espanto’s 2nd single from his self-titled album, “Stuck.” The youngest local artist to hold a major solo concert, napatunayan ni Darren na hindi sya papahuli sa popularity, di man nya nauwi ang grand prize sa The Voice Kids Season 1. Let’s chill while wishfully thinking about lost love with “Stuck” by Darren Espanto.

1) In Love Ako Sa ‘Yo – Darren Espanto

At the top spot, the most loved song of 2015, is none other than “In Love Ako Sa ‘Yo” by, once again, Darren Espanto. A lighthearted pop ballad, hindi kataka-takang napamahal agad ang “In Love Ako Sa ‘Yo” sa listeners. Magaan sa pandinig at tungkol sa masayang bahagi ng pag-ibig, this single has surely boosted Darren’s album to its Platinum standing. Fall in love with him and his music some more, here is Darren Espanto with “In Love Ako Sa ‘Yo.”
