AlDub Reaches the Right Time to be in Cinemas with ‘My Bebe Love’

From split-screen to silver screen, AlDub faces yet another trial to prove that love conquers all with their first movie “My Bebe Love, #KiligPaMore.”

A part of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2015, the film will feature Alden Richards and Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza as star-crossed lovers similar to their roles in Eat Bulaga’s “KalyeSerye” segment where they first rose to fame.

The phenomenal love team will be joined by the noontime show’s “Bossing” Vic Sotto and Comedy Concert Queen Ai-Ai delas Alas. Sotto and delas Alas will play Maine’s father and Alden’s aunt, respectively.

A fight between Bossing and Ai-Ai opens the trailer and, while the two are squabbling, Dondi (Alden) and Anna (Maine) also met and seemingly experienced love at first sight. As the connection between the two deepens, so is the animosity between their guardians.

Being mortal enemies, of course, the daddy and the aunt will not allow the blossoming relationship to ultimately bloom. And so, the two plotted against the young lovers but the connivance appeared to lead them to somewhere else – a love story of their own?

Though the love team is set once again to a conquest for true love, their story will not be told on ordinary streets but inside high-end villages and posh offices. We may still enjoy her wacky facial expressions but Maine plays a character which is the total opposite of her “Yaya” role. In the movie, she is a rich daddy’s girl, always wearing elegant dresses and high heels and more fluent in English than her dad.

Alden, on the other hand, remains the shy yet sincere and persistent admirer. Unlike his role in “KalyeSerye,” though, he has a back-up in the person of her aunt who is as combative as the family of his love interest. Lolas Nidora, Tidora and Tinidora may not be included in the casts but, knowing Bossing’s movies, it would not be a surprise if Jose, Wally and Paolo – who are the guys behind the iconic grandmothers in the noontime show segment – will eventually make cameo appearances in the film.

Whether this is just a spinoff of ”KalyeSerye” or a totally new offering, one thing is for sure – AlDub’s charm is ever present in the movie! And who wouldn’t go out to see the two going on dates, looking sleek while exchanging more cheesy lines? Who wouldn’t rush to the cinemas to witness Maine wipe food stain from Alden’s lips and show us that a couple can actually exude such inexplicable chemistry? So, to all those who are considering this cinematic event as the fulfillment of their dreams for this breakthrough love team, see you in theatres on December 25.

“My Bebe Love, #KiligPaMore” is directed by Jose Javier Reyes and co-produced by APT Entertainment, GMA Films, MEDA Production, M-Zet TV and Octo Arts Films. The romantic comedy is one of the official entries to 41st MMFF this year.
