After changing our noontime TV habits and regularly breaking the internet, AlDub is now invading other media not just in the Philippines but also internationally.

Magazine Covers

AlDub – as the moniker of the love team of Alden Richards and Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza is popularly known – is now the newest favorite amongst magazine publications.

The unexpected romantic duo will grace the cover of Preview Magazine on its November 2015 issue. Through their Instagram account, Summit Media’s style bible shared the fantastically fashionable stars on October 28.

Fresh-faced Maine is Meg Magazine’s November cover girl, too. She delightfully shared her first solo magazine cover via Instagram on October 24.

While Maine’s onscreen bae Alden, who was already featured in Inside Showbiz Magazine last October, is the face of Mega Man this November. Both Meg and Mega Man magazines are published by One Mega Group, Inc.

“KalyeSerye”, the segment of the Philippine noontime show “Eat Bulaga” that paved the way for AlDub’s fame, has also been chosen as the cover of the November issue of Yes! Magazine.

Aside from Alden and Maine, the three grandmothers known as Nidora (Wally Bayola), Tidora (Paolo Ballesteros) and Tinidora (Jose Manalo) are also featured in Summit Media’s entertainment mag. These three comedians – who are now being considered as this generation’s Tito, Vic and Joey – are also the faces of Inside Showbiz’s November issue.

As if it’s still not enough to see their images in every local publication, AlDub has been picked to grace the cover of Reader’s Digest Asia December issue. Copies of this Holiday issue will be distributed online and physically to RD’s patrons not just in the Philippines but also overseas.

More importantly, this coverage will help in the AlDub Library Project. During the “Sa Tamang Panahon” concert, the fund-raising project that will benefit the public school libraries in the Philippines was launched. With RD’s December 2015 cover, 10                                                                                                       pesos per copy will be donated to the said project.

As a continuation of their Asian invasion and perhaps a stepping stone for world domination, AlDub is also featured by the internationally renowned British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

In BBC’s online news site, the pairing of Alden and Maine is dubbed as a “Social Media Phenomenon.” Writer Heather Chen further described AlDub as “[…] a surreal and wildly popular show which has smashed global social media records.”

The article further cited how AlDub’s concert hashtag #AlDubEBTamangPanahon has garnered over 41 million tweets, breaking the previous record set Brazil’s defeat to Germany during the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Chen also mentioned how Maine has one of the fastest-growing followings on Twitter, alongside international superstars Taylor Swift and Katy Perry.
